Ingredients
- For Marination
1/2 Chicken
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Chili powder
2 tbsp. Lemon juice
Salt to taste
- For Grinding
1 tbsp. Oil
2 Onions
1 inch ginger
15 pods Garlic
6 Almonds
6 Cashew nuts
- For Gravy
3 tbsp. Oil
2 Bay leaf
1 tsp Fennel seeds
3 Cardamom
10 Pepper corns
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tbsp. Coriander powder
4 Green chilies
2 tbsp. Thick curd
1 tbsp. Kasuri methi
1 cup Water (adjust as per requirements)
Salt to taste
Directions
- Firstly, take a mixing bowl and add in chicken, turmeric powder, chili powder, salt to taste and squeeze some lemon juice.
- Close the lid and allow it to marinate for 30 minutes.
- Now heat a pan and add in oil, onion, ginger, garlic, almonds and cashew nuts. Sauté till it turns slightly brown.
- Transfer to a mixer jar and grind it into a smooth paste.
- In the same pan add in oil, bay leaf, cardamom, pepper corns, fennel seeds.
- Add in ground paste. Give a mix and allow it to cook till the oil separates the pan.
- Later add in garam masala and coriander powder. Give a mix.
- Further, add in marinated chicken and salt to taste.
- Add green chilies ( as per your spice level) and water (as per requirement). Allow it to cook till the chicken is completely cooked.
- At the end add in kasuri methi.
- Allow it cook till the chicken is nicely cooked and also oil separates the pan.
- Finally, rich and tasty Mughlai chicken curry is ready to serve.
