Chicken Masala Recipe

Chicken Masala Recipe is a spicy and flavorful semi-gravy recipe. It is a creamy and tasty chicken gravy recipe that can be prepared in under 30 minutes with minimal ingredients available at home. This is an easy beginner’s chicken gravy recipe.

Further, can be served with hot plain rice, and other flavored rice like ghee rice, coconut rice, jeera rice, chapati, dosa, ragi ball, naan, and paratha.

Chicken Masala is prepared by adding finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and spices. It is a basic chicken gravy recipe with a thick saucy gravy. If you want the creamy gravy, you may add Fresh coconut milk, any nut milk like cashew nut paste, almond milk, poppy seeds, and roasted channa paste. Adding the above ingredients makes the gravy thicker and creamy.

How to make Chicken Masala Recipe

Heat a pan and add in 4 tbsp. Oil 15 crushed oil, 2 Green Chilies. Sauté till the garlic turns slightly brown.
Then add in chopped onions and fry till brown.
1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste. Sauté till the raw smell goes away completely.
Further, add in chopped 2 big ripe tomatoes, fry till the tomatoes becomes soft.
Later add in 1 tsp red chili powder, 2 tsp coriander powder, 1/4 cup chicken masala powder (any brand of your choice). Fry for 2 minutes.
Add cleaned 1 kg Chicken, salt to taste and 1 cup water.
Once the chicken is 3/4th cooked, add in fresh coconut milk and give a mix.
Once the chicken is completely cooked, finally, garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
Now the creamy and tasty Chicken Masala is ready to serve.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Chicken with bones

  • 4 tbsp. Oil

  • 10 to 15 Garlic

  • 3 Big Onions chopped

  • 2 Green chilies

  • 2 big Ripe tomato chopped

  • 1 tbsp. Ginger garlic paste

  • 1 Red Chili powder

  • 2 tsp Coriander powder

  • 1/4 cup Chicken Masala Powder ( Any Brand of your choice)

  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/2 Cup Coconut Milk

  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

  • Salt to taste

Notes

  • To get a spicy and juicy chicken gravy, you need to cook under a low flame. So, that the chicken observes the spicy and flavor present in the gravy.
  • You can replace chicken masala powder to gram masala.
