Spicy Pepper Cumin Rasam without Tomato | Pepper Soup is a healthy and tasty rasam recipe. It can be served as a soup or even with hot rice and ghee. It is good for digestion, immunity booster. It is very simple and easy to prepare with minimum ingredients available at home. It is good to have during cold and cough.
Ingredients used:
Tamarind, pepper corns, toor dal, cumin seeds, oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing, turmeric powder, rasam powder or sambar powder, red chilies, crushed garlic, hing, water as required, salt to taste.

Pepper Cumin Rasam or Pepper Soup Recipe
Pepper Cumin Rasam or Pepper Soup Recipe is a healthy and simple rasam recipe. It is very easy to prepare at home with minimum ingredients available at home. It goes well with hot rice, or it can be served as a soup.
- Pan
- Mixer jar
- 1 Lemon size Tamarind
- 2 Cups Water
- 2 tsp Rasam powder
- Pinch of turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Pinch of hing
For Roast and Grinding
- 1 tbsp Toor dal
- 1 tsp Pepper corns
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 3 Red chilies
- 1 spring Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Oil or Ghee
For Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Oil
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 spring Curry leaves
- 5 Crushed garlic

Firstly heat a pan and add in (1 cup water and lemon size tamarind) juice and allow it boil.

Then add in turmeric powder, hing, rasam powder. Allow it boil till the raw smell goes away.

Then heat a pan and add in oil, toor dal, red chilies, curry leaves, pepper corns, cumin seeds. Roast till it slightly changes it color.

Transfer to mixer jar.Grind it into a smooth paste.

Now add in the grounded paste, salt to taste and allow it to boil.

For seasoning heat a small pan and add in oil, cumin seeds, crushed garlic, curry leaves. Now transfer the seasoning to the boiling rasam.

Allow it to boil for 1 minute and switch off the flame.

Finally the Pepper Cumin Rasam or Pepper Soup is ready to serve.
