Spicy Pepper Cumin Rasam without Tomato | Pepper Soup is a healthy and tasty rasam recipe. It can be served as a soup or even with hot rice and ghee. It is good for digestion, immunity booster. It is very simple and easy to prepare with minimum ingredients available at home. It is good to have during cold and cough.

Ingredients used:

Tamarind, pepper corns, toor dal, cumin seeds, oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing, turmeric powder, rasam powder or sambar powder, red chilies, crushed garlic, hing, water as required, salt to taste.

How to make Spicy Pepper Cumin Rasam without Tomato or Pepper Soup:

Firstly heat a pan and add in (1 cup water and lemon size tamarind) juice and allow it boil.

Then add in turmeric powder, hing, rasam powder. Allow it boil till the raw smell goes away.

Then heat a pan and add in oil, toor dal, red chilies, curry leaves, pepper corns, cumin seeds. Roast till it slightly changes it color.

  • Pan
  • Mixer jar
  • 1 Lemon size Tamarind
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 2 tsp Rasam powder
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of hing

For Roast and Grinding

  • 1 tbsp Toor dal
  • 1 tsp Pepper corns
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 3 Red chilies
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Oil or Ghee

For Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 spring Curry leaves
  • 5 Crushed garlic
