Snake gourd Curry | Masala Gravy | Korma is a healthy and tasty curry recipe with step by step pictures and instructions are given below. Snake gourd is rich in dietary fibers which helps in digestion. Snake gourd is good for skin and hair. It goes well with rice varieties like pulao, coconut rice, ghee rice, jeera rice and even with chapatis, dosa, idly, parathas, poori, ragi ball. It is a all in one healthy and flavorful curry recipe.
Before using snake gourd for cooking rinse it thoroughly for 2 to 3 times and the remove the seeds and cut them into small pieces. Now its ready for cook.
Ingredients:
Snake gourd, channa dal, water as required, salt to taste, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander leaves for garnishing and for grinding we need onion, coconut, ginger garlic, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, cashew nuts, fennel seeds, tomato. For seasoning we need oil, onion, curry leaves, mustard seeds.

How to make Snake gourd Curry | Masala Gravy | Korma:
- Firstly heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, onion, curry leaves, sauté for 2 minutes or till the onions becomes soft.
- Then add in cut snake gourd, soaked channa dal. Give a mix and cook for 3 to 5 minutes in low flame. Add little water.
- Add in little water to cook snake gourd and dal.
- Meanwhile take a mixer jar and add in onion, tomato, ginger garlic, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, fennel seeds, coconut, cashew nuts. Grind it into a smooth paste.
- Now add in the ground masala paste. Give a mix and add in required water. And give a mix.
- Then add in red chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste.
- Then add in garam masala powder and give a mix. Cook till the raw smell of the masala goes away completely and the snake gourd, dal are completely cooked.
- Finally garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
- Finally the healthy and tasty Snake gourd curry, gravy, korma is ready to serve.

- Pan
- Mixer jar
- 400 grams Snake gourd
- ⅓ cup Channa dal soaked
- 1 tsp Red chili powder
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
- Water as required
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
For grinding
- 1 Onion
- ⅓ cup Coconut
- 8 Garlic cloves
- ½ inch Ginger
- 2 Cloves
- 1 Cardamom
- ½ inch Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Fennel seeds
- 5 Cashew nuts
- 1 Tomato
For Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Oil
- ½ Onion cut
- 2 spring Curry leaves
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
