Ingredients
Semiya (vermicelli) Upma 1 cup
Oil or Ghee 2 tbsp.
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
Chana dal 1 tbsp.
Urad dal 1 tbsp.
Green chilies 3
Big Onion 1 sliced
Pinch of hing
Curry leaves 2 spring
Salt to taste
Water 2 to 3 cups
Peanuts 1/4 cup
Directions
- Firstly, take a pan and add in 2 cups of water, later switch off the flame. Then add in a cup of semiya and allow it to rest for 3 to 5 minutes. Further, semiya cooks in the hot water.
- Then immediately drain off the excess water and allow it to cool down completely.
- Now heat a pan and add in oil or ghee, mustared seeds, cumin seeds, channa dal, urad dal and a pinch of hing.
- And then add in sliced onions, green chilies and salt to taste. Sauté for a 30 seconds.
- Further, add in cooked semiyas. Give a mix.
- Close the lid and allow it to cook for 3 to 5 minutes under a low flame.
- Finally, add in fired peanuts. Now the quick and tasty semiya upma is ready to serve.
