Rava Idli or sooji idli is a healthy and tasty breakfast recipe, rava idli is a variation of the popular South Indian breakfast item Idli. Usually idli is made with idli rice, urad dal but rava idli is made with rava, thick curd. Rava idli goes well with potato sagu, vegetable sagu, coconut chutney. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are rava, thick curd, chopped curry leaves, coriander leaves, mustard seeds, green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, pinch of turmeric powder, eno powder, salt to taste, grated carrot, few cashew nuts for garnishing, crushed ginger, water if required, oil.

How to make Rava Idli Recipe:
Rava Idli
Rava idli is a healthy and tasty breakfast recipe, goes well with potato sagu, vegetable sagu or coconut chutney.
- Mixing bowl
- Idli cooker
- 300 grams Rava/sooji
- ½ Liter Thick curd
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 Chopped green chilies
- ⅛ tsp Ginger chopped
- 2 string Chopped curry leaves
- ¼ cup Chopped coriander leaves
- ⅛ tsp Mustard seeds
- Pinch of turmeric powder and hing
- ⅓ cup Grated carrot
- Few cashew nuts
- ⅛ tsp Eno powder or baking soda
- Water as required

Firstly heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, green chilies, crushed ginger, hing, chopped coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves, turmeric powder, hing. Fry for 30 seconds.

Then add in rava and saute it for 2 to 3 minutes in low flame and then add in grated carrot, chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.

Then allow it to cool down completely. Later add in thick curd and salt to taste. Give a mix. Allow it rest for 30 to 45 minutes.

Meanwhile place the idli cooker and add in water. Then allow it to boil.

Then grease the idli plate with oil, place cashew nuts and pour the idli batter into the idli molds.

Then place the idli molds inside the cooker and close the lid, and cook for 15 minutes in low flame.

Finally the healthy and tasty rava idli is ready to cook with coconut chutney or sagu.
