Moong Dal Halwa is a traditional and healthy dessert recipe made with green gram split. Step by step pictures and instructions of Moong dal halwa is given below. I tasted this halwa from one of the restaurant , from that day on wards it has become my all time favorite dessert. The ingredients used in this recipe are very handy.
Ingredients Used:
Moong dal, sugar, milk, water, ghee, rava, gram flour.
Methods:
- Firstly rinse moong dal for 2 to 3 times.
- Allow it to dry on cotton cloth for 10 minutes.
- Then heat a pan and add in oil, dry fruits or your choice. Saute till it changes its color to golden color.
- In the same pan, add in oil or ghee and moong dal, dry roast till it turns to golden color.
- Transfer the roasted moong dal into the mixer jar, along with that add in rava, roasted channa.
- Grind it into a smooth powder.7.
- Again heat a pan and add in ghee.8
- Then add in ground powder.
- Fry till the raw smell goes away.
- Later add in one cup of water. Keep stirring till the water is completely observed.
- Later add in Milk and give a mix without any lumps.
- Now add in 2 tbsp of ghee and give a mix.
- Close the lid and cook for another 6 to 8 minutes.
- And then add in sugar and give a mix. Allow the sugar to melt.
- Now add in 2 tbsp of ghee, give a mix.
- Cook till the ghee getting separated. Now the halwa is ready.
- Finally add in fried dry fruits and give a mix.
- Finally tasty and delicious Moong Dal Halwa is ready to serve.

- 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
- 1 tbsp Dry grapes
- ½ cup Ghee
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 tbsp Rava
- 1 tbsp Gram flour or roasted channa
- Cardamom powder (Optional)
