Goan Fish Curry

Ingredients used in this recipe are:

For fish marination: fish, turmeric powder, salt, lime juice.

For grinding masala paste: coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fresh coconut, kashmiri red chilies, cloves, whole black peppercorns, garlic, cinnamon stick.

For making curry: vegetable oil, green chilies, onions, tomatoes, kashmiri red chili powder, tamarind paste, coconut milk, salt to taste, water as required.

How to make Goan Fish curry Recipe:

Firstly rinse the fish for 2 to 3 times and then add in turmeric powder, rock salt and lemon juice. Mix well and close the lid and marinate for 30 minutes. And then wash it water.

Now take a mier jar and add in pepper corns, coriander seeds, garlic cloves, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick.

Now heat a pan and add in oil, chopped onions, green chilies, curry leaves. Saute it till transparent.

  • Mixing bowl

For marination

  • 1 kg Fresh fish
  • 1 tbsp Rock salt
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder

For Masala Paste

  • 4 tbsp Coriander seeds
  • 4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • ¾ cup Coconut sliced or grated
  • 10 Kashmiri chilies
  • 12 cloves Garlic
  • 1½ tsp Pepper corns
  • 6 Cloves
  • 2 inch Cinnamon sticks

For curry

  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 4 Green chilies slit
  • 3 Chopped onions
  • 3 Chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind paste
  • ½ cup Coconut milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
