Tamarind Chutney:

What does tamarind chutney taste like?

It is a combination of sweet, tangy, spicy, and sour flavors. Adding jaggery or dates balances the flavor of the tamarind.

What is sweet chutney made of?

It is also called Imli Chutney. There are two versions of tamarind chutney. Firstly, it is prepared by soaking tamarind and then extracting the paste. Then add jaggery (as per your taste), a pinch of salt, and a little cumin powder, and give a mix.

How do you make sweet date tamarind chutney?

The second version is first to take seedless tamarind and dates, then soak them in hot water. Then grind it into a smooth paste, strain it, and then add jaggery, a pinch of salt, and jeera powder, give a mix. Now the chutney is ready to serve with any chaat of your choice.

What can I do with sweet tamarind?

We can use it for any Indian chats like bhel puri, Pani puri, samosa, kachori, etc. And can be used for marinating fish. And can be used in curries too.

How long can you keep tamarind chutney in the fridge?

It can be stored for 2 to 3 months if stored in an airtight container and refrigerated properly. Even we freeze it to maximize its shelf life. Make sure to use a clean spoon each time you are using it. The spoon should not be wet, it should be completely dry.

Serving Tips:

Furthermore, it can be served as a dipping sauce for any chaats or snacks. Like samosa, kebabs, pani puri etc. Secondly as a top sauce on chaat dishes.

Green Chutney:

It is a simple and healthy chutney, as we are adding only the fresh leaves and spices. Further, it is also called Hari chutney, i.e., hari means green in Hindi. Further, it is the popular green sauce used in Indian chaats or snack recipes. And can serve as a dipping sauce or serve as a topping chaat. So, it is spicy and fresh in flavor which helps in digestion.

What does green chutney contain?

It is a blend of fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger and garlic, and salt. Add lemon juice at the end gives a fresh taste to the chutney.

Why is my green chutney bitter?

Adding grated coconut, shallot onion, or thick yogurt may help to reduce the bitterness. Grinding for a longer time may result in a bitter taste in chutney.
