Drumstick Leaves Dal is a very healthy and tasty dal recipe with step by step pictures and instructions are given below. It goes well with rice, ragi ball, chapati, dosa. It is very simple and easy to prepare. Instead of drumstick leaves even we can use spinach, methi leaves too.
Ingredients:
Moong dal, toor dal, drumstick leaves, onion, tomatoes, curry leaves, garlic, oil, ghee, mustard seeds, green chilies, salt to taste, water as required, red chili powder.
Methods:
- Firstly heat a pressure cooker and add in water, moong dal, toor dal, onion, tomato, green chili, drumstick leaves, salt to taste. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
- After pressure cooking the dal, smash it with the help of a smasher.
- For seasoning, heat a tadka pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, chopped garlic, onion, curry leaves, red chili. Saute it for 2 minutes in low flame.
- Now add in the prepared seasoning to the smashed dal and allow it boil. If required add in salt to taste or red chili powder at this stage.
- Finally the drumstick leaves dal is ready to serve.

- 1 cup Drumstick leaves
- ¼ cup Toor dal
- ¼ cup Moong dal
- 1 Onion
- 1 Tomato
- 2 Green chilies
- 5 Chopped garlic
- 2 tsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 Curry leaves
- 1 Red chili
- Red chili powder (As per requirement)
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
