Vegetable white kurma goes well with poori, peas pulav, ghee rice, coconut rice, dosa, chapati, appam etc. Usually kurma is made with adding all the spices like red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, vegetables, mint leaves, coriander leaves and all other spices, but in veg white kurma we don’t add spices like red chili powder, coriander or garam masala, mint leaves or coriander leaves because it changes the color of the kurma.

So, instead we add ingredients like green chili, coconuts, fennel seeds, roasted channa, cashew nuts, vegetables like carrot, beans, green peas, potatoes, ginger garlic paste or whole we can add, cloves, cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, onions, bay leaf, cardamom pods, salt to taste, water as required.

Veg White Kurma | Saravana Bhavan White Kurma is a creamy and healthy kurma or gravy recipe, goes well with ghee rice, poori, appam, coconut rice, peas pulav, dosa.
- Large Pan
- Mixer jar
- 2 Carrots
- 10 Beans
- 2 Khol
- ½ cup Green peas
- 1 Potato
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 Cloves
- 1 inch Cinnamon sticks
- 2 Cardamom
- 1 Bay leaf
- ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 Onion
- Salt to taste
- Water as required (Adjust according to your consistency)
For Grinding
- ½ cup Coconut
- ½ tsp Fennel seeds
- 5 to 6 Cashew nuts
- 1 tbsp Roasted channa
- 3 Green chilies
- 1 tsp Poppy seeds
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste

Heat a pan and add in oil, cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cardamom, sliced onions. Saute till the onions becomes transparent.

Now add in vegetables and give a mix.

Take a mixer jar and add in coconuts, roasted channa dal, green chilies, cashew nuts, ginger garlic paste, poppy seeds.

Now add in the grounded paste, salt to taste. Give a mix. Close the lid and allow it to boil.
