Paneer Dum Biryani

So, the ingredients used in this recipe are paneer, basmati rice, green peas, onion, oil, ghee, tomatoes, green chilies, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, mint leaves, coriander leaves, cloves, cinnamon stick, cardamom, bay leaf, fennel seeds, curd, kasuri methi, salt to taste, water as required, turmeric powder.

How to make Paneer Dum Biryani Recipe:

Paneer dum biryani
Firstly take a bowl and add in paneer, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, kasuri methi, curd, kashmiri chili powder, ginger garlic paste.

Allow it to marinate for 30 minutes.

In another pan add in basmati rice(rinsed and soaked for 30 minutes), water, fennel seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon sticks, pepper corn, cardamom. Allow it cook.

Then heat a pan and add in oil or ghee, fennel seeds, cloves, cinnamon sticks, bay leaf, cumin seeds.

Now add in sliced onions, tomatoes. Close the lid and cook till the tomatoes are nicely cooked.

Then add in frozen green peas and marinated paneer cubes. Give a mix.

Close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes under medium flame or till the raw smell goes away.

Once the rice is 3/4th cooked, drain off the excess water and keep it aside.

Now spread the 3/4th cooked basmati rice on prepared paneer gravy and sprinkle some chopped mint and coriander leaves.

Paneer Dum Biryani Recipe

Paneer Dum Biryani Recipe is a healthy and tasty biryani recipe. It is very simple and easy to prepare. It goes well with raita or gravy or your choice.

  • Large Pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • 250 grams Basmati rice
  • ½ cup Green peas (Optionl)
  • 2 Medium Onions
  • 3 Tomatoes
  • 4 Cloves
  • 2 inch Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 6 to 7 Pepper corns
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds (Optional)
  • 2 Bay leaf
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Ghee

For Paneer Marination

  • 200 grams Fresh Paneer
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder (adjust according to your spicy level)
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Garam masala
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
  • ¼ cup Thick curd
  • 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
