Spicy raw banana bajji or bhaji is a healthy and tasty banana bajji recipe. Bajji or bhaji, is a type of fritter originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the popular street food in India. It is made from spices and vegetables like: onion, potato, ridge guard, raw banana, chili, cabbage, palak(spinach) etc., They are generally served as a evening snack along with a cup of coffee or tea. Usually bajji goes well with coconut chutney, peanut chutney, mint chutney. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are raw banana, salt to taste, chili powder, gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, hing, water as required, oil.

How to make Spicy Raw Banana Bajji:

Firstly clean and peel the skin of the raw banana.

Slice them into pieces.

Now take a bowl and add in besan flour or gram flour, turmeric powder, hing, rice flour, red chili powder, salt to taste and water as required. Then give a mix without any lumps. It should not be too water or too thick.

Then dip the sliced raw banana slices into batter. Coat the batter on all the sides.

Later heat a pan and add in oil, then allow it heat. Slowly drop into hot oil and deep fry.

Spicy Raw Banana Bajji or Bhaji is a simple and tasty evening snack recipe. It goes well with mint chutney, coconut chutney.

  • Mixing bowl
  • Deep frying pan
  • 2 Raw Bananas
  • 1 cup Gram flour
  • 1 tbsp Rice flour
  • Pinch of baking powder (Optional)
  • ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
  • Pinch of hing
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  • Oil for deep frying
  1. Firstly clean and peel the skin of the raw bananas and then slice them into pieces.

  2. Then take a mixing bowl and add in gram flour, chili powder, turmeric powder, rice flour, salt to taste and water as required.

  3. Give a mix without any lumps. Batter should not be too water and not too thick.

  4. Then dip the sliced raw banana slices into the prepared batter. coat them on all the sides of the sliced raw banana.

  5. Deep fry them till crisp and golden brown.

  6. Finally the spicy raw banana bajji is ready to serve with mint chutney or coconut chutney of your choice.
