Flavorful Lemon Rice or chitranna Recipe

Lemon Rice is simple and easy to prepare recipe with step by step pictures and instructions are given below. It requires only few ingredients to prepare this lemon rice. Whenever I feel lazy to prepare breakfast I prepare this simple, tasty and fast lemon rice. Chitranna (kannada) is also known as lemon rice. It is a rice based dish widely prepared in South India. It is prepared by mixing cooked rice with a seasoning. Chitranna is one of the popular breakfast recipe in Karnataka and it has become a part of daily diet.

Ingredients:

Fresh lemon, onion, oil, mustard seed, urad dal, channa dal, peanuts, curry leaves, turmeric powder, salt to taste, cooked rice, green chilies, grated coconuts, coriander leaves, hing.

Simple Lemon Rice

It is a very simple and tasty recipe. Easy to prepare with less ingredients.

  • 2 Cup Cooked Rice
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • ¼ Cup Peanuts
  • ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 Green chili
  • 1 Big Lemon
  • 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
  • 1 tsp Chana and Urad dal
  • 2 Spring Curry leaves
  • Few Coriander leaves
  • Pinch Turmeric powder
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • Pinch Hing
  1. Take a pan add in oil, mustard seeds, chana and urad dal, peanuts.



  2. Add in onion, green chili, curry leaves.



  3. Add Onion, turmeric powder, grated coconut and hing.



  4. Add in cooked rice, salt and give a gentle mix.



  5. Squeeze Lemon Juice. Give a mix and serve hot.
