Ragi Puttu Recipe
Ragi Puttu is a breakfast recipe, usually popular in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka. It goes well with sugar, banana, jaggery and curries of your choice.
- Mixing bowl
- Puttu Maker
- 1 cup Ragi Flour
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ¾ cup Freshly grated coconuts
- Water as required
Take a mixing bowl and add in ragi flour, salt and give a mix.
Add water batch by batch and mix with the help of your fingers, make a moist flour.
When you hold the flour in your hand it should hold a shape and when you press it should break.
Now take a puttu maker, firstly add in some grated coconut and then add in prepared moist ragi flour mix. Repeat the same.
Now steam cook the puttu for 5 to 8 minutes or till the steam escapes from the hole.
Finally remove the puttu and serve hot with jaggery, banana, sugar or any curry of your choice.
