POTATO SAGU
Is a simple, tasty and yet healthy recipe. It is best breakfast recipe. It goes well with Poori, Chapati, Dosa. Potato Sagu or Aloo Sagu is really simple and easy to prepare. Hope all you like it and give a try. Enjoy it!
Ingredients:
Boiled, peeled and smashed Potatoes, chopped Onion, chopped Tomato, Roasted chana powder, Oil, pinch Gram masala or you can also use coriander powder too, chana dal, urad dal, peanuts,turmeric powder, Mustard seeds, green chili and chili powder.
To thicken this gravy roasted chana powder is added it is not only added for thickness but also for taste also. If you find the sagu has become more thick for this you can add little water and bring back to your consistency. You can also add green peas even it tastes great.
Even you can make Potato Palya has a substitute for Potato Sagu recipe. Potato Palya can also be best side dish for poori, chapati, dosa and goes well with as a side dish for samber or rasam rice. The difference between Potato Sagu and Potato Palya is the consistency, Potato Sagu will be little watery consistency while the Potato palya is dry consistency.
But both tastes different in their own ways. Little difference also varies in ingredients like spice powders and roasted chana dal powders are not added in Potato Palya recipe.
Whenever I prepare Pooris as breakfast I would like to prepare this tasty Potato Sagu recipe as it is my favorite combination than with anything else. Sometimes whenever I prepare dosa I make this tasty potato sagu has a combination along with coconut or peanut chutne

Potato Sagu or Aloo Sagu
Potato Sagu or Aloo Sagu is a simple and tasty recipe. It is preared has a side dish for Poori, Chapati and Dosa recipe.
- 4 Potatoes (Boiled and Smashed)
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Tomato Chopped
- ¼ tsp Garam Masala or Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Chili Powder
- ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
- ½ tsp Channa dal and Urad dal
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powderr
- 1 tsp Oil
- 1 Spring Curry leaves
- 1 tbsp Roasted Chana Powder
- Few Coriander leaves chopped
- Salt (As per taste)
- Water (As required)
Firstly boil and smash the potatoes.
Take a pan add in oil, mustared, chan and urad dal, curry leaves.
Add in tomato chopped and tumeric powder.
Add in smashed potatoes, garam masala, coriander powder, chili powder, salt and required water.
Add in roasted chana powder and garnish it with coriander leaves. Ready to serve.
- You can also add green peas or peanuts.
