Avarekalu is also known by flat bean, is a fine source of proteins. Fresh Avarebele Masala Gravy or Curry is one of my all time favorite dish. You can add this beans in Idly batter, Dosa batter, Uppma, Rice recipes, Akki Roti, and Ragi Roti also, it adds more taste to the recipe. This Avarebele Masala Gravy goes well with cooked rice, coconut rice, poori, chapati, dosa, ragi ball and even with idly too.

Masala Avarebele Curry
It is healthy and tasty curry it goes well with poori, chapati, ragi ball and even with rice.
- 2 Cups Fresh Avarebele
- 2 Potatoes cut
- 2 Brinjal cut
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves
Grinding
- ¼ Cup Coconut chopped
- 1 Onion
- 1 tbsp Roasted Chana
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste (You can also add fresh also)
- 1 tsp Poppy seeds
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 3 tsp Coriander Powder
- 1 or 2 Cloves, Cardomum, Cinnamon Sticks
- Salt (As per taste)
- Water (As required)
Seasoning
- 1 tsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 Small Onion chopped
- 1 Small Tomato chopped
- 2 Spring Curry leaves
Take a pot or pan add in oil, mustard, onion, tomato and curry leaves.
Add in fresh Avarebele i.e. flat beans. and fry of 3 minutes in low falme.
Add in potatoes and brinjals.
Grind the masala.
Add in the masala paste. Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes in low flame.
Garnish it with coriander leaves. Serve with poori, chapati or rice.
