Ingredients
Rice Flour 1 cup
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Maida 1/4 cup
Chili powder 1 tsp (add as per your spice level)
Gram Flour 2 tbsp.
Hing 1/4 tsp
Unsalted butter 3 tbsp.
Water (as required)
Oil for deep frying
Ajwain 1 tsp
Sesame seeds 1 tbsp.
Butter 2 tbsp.
Directions
- Take a mixing bowl and add in rice flour 1 cup, maida 1/4 cup, Gram flour 2 tbsp.
- Add cumin seeds 1 tsp, sesame seeds 1 tbsp., hing 1/4 tsp, chili powder 1 tsp, turmeric powder 1/4 tsp and salt to taste.
- Later add in butter 2 tbsp. Give a mix without any lumps.
- Add required water and knead the dough smooth and non sticky.
- Now close the lid and allow it to rest for 20 minutes.
- Take Star mould and fix it to the chakli maker and place the prepared dough inside the maker.
- Tighten the lid and start making chakli by pressing directly into the hot oil or even you can wet cloth or steel plate or butter paper to make chakli and then deep fry them.
- Fry till the chakli turns light golden brown and crispy.
- Finally, instant chakli is ready to eat. Once cooled enjoy and store it in an airtight container.
