Is a simple and tasty chutney recipe. Usually green chutney is used for sandwiches, chaat, even it goes well with dosa, idly too. It enhances the flavor and look of the recipe. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are mint leaves, coriander leaves, garlic, ginger, green chilies, onions(optional), salt to taste.
It is a simple and healthy chutney, has we adding only the fresh leaves and spices. And it is also called Hari chutney, i.e., hari means green in Hindi. Further it is the popular green sauce used in Indian chaats or snack recipes. Can be served as a dipping sauce or served as a topping chaats. It is spicy and fresh in flavor which also helps in digestion.
What does green chutney contain?
It is a blend of fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger and garlic, salt. Add lemon juice at the end gives a fresh taste to the chutney.
Why is my green chutney bitter?
Adding grated coconut, shallot onion, or thick yogurt may help to reduce the bitter. Grind for longer time may result in bitter taste in chutney.
How long can you keep Green chutney in fridge?
According to me we can keep for 2 weeks if stored in a airtight container and refrigerated properly. Make sure to use a clean spoon each time you are using it. The spoon should not be wet, it should be completely dry.
