One pot chicken biryani is one of my all time favorite delicious biryani recipe, it is very easy to prepare and yet tastes delicious, it goes well with onion raita. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are ready available at home. Ingredients are country chicken, onion, tomato, mint leaves, coriander leaves, kasuri methi i.e, fenugreek leaves or methi leaves, ginger garlic paste, green chilies, chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, biryani powder or garam masala powder, cloves, cinnamom sticks, cardamom, fennel seeds, bay leaf, star asine, kashmiri chili powder for color, lemon juice, ghee, oil, salt as per taste, water as required.
There are variety of chicken biryani recipes such as chicken biryani, haryali chicken biryani, chicken cum biryani, hyderabadi chicken biryani, hyderabadi dum biryani, chicken biryani with coconut water, chicken biryani without coconut water, mint chicken biryani, etc., Other biryani recipes are prawn biryani, mushroom biryani, paneer biryani, vegetable biryani, kabuli channa biryani, potato biryani, soya chunks biryani, mutton biryani, fish biryani etc.,
Usually biryani goes well with onion raita, tomato raita, cucumber raita, or with chicken gravy, chili salna, egg salna, egg gravy, mutton curry, brinjal gravy.
Some people use thick curd while making biryani both in veg and non veg biryani, even we can add fried dry fruits and onions to enhance taste of the biryani.

Delicious One Pot Chicken Biryani
Hi frineds, here is the delicious and tasty chicken biryani recipe, goes well with onion raita, gravies of your choice.
- 5 cups Basmati Rice
- 3 Finely chopped large Onions
- 3 Finely chopped medium tomatoes
- 3 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 10 Green chilies
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Chili powders
- 2 tsp Coriander Powder
- 2 tsp Biryani powder
- 1 cup Fresh mint leaves
- ½ cup Coriander leaves
- 3 to 4 Cloves, Cardomum, Cinnamon Sticks and Bay leaf
- ½ tsp Fennel seeds
- 2 tbsp Kasuri methi
- 1 spring Curry leaves
- Salt (As per taste)
- 7½ cups Water
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 Lemon juice
Soak basmati rice for 30 minutes.
Take a large bottom pan and add in oil, spices, green chili and onions, fry till crispy golden brown.
Add in ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes and fry till the raw smell goes.
Add in all the spice powders and salt, fry till the oil separates.
Add in chicken, copped mint leaves, coriander leaves, kasuri methi and close the lid and cook for 5 to 7 minutes in low flame.
Now add in the soaked rice and give a fry for 1 minute.
Now add in the required water, lemon juice, ghee. Check the salt and spice and add if required
Close the lid tightly by placing any weight on it so that the air does not go. Cook them in low flame at least for 20 to 25 minutes in low flame.
Now the delicious one pot chicken biryani is ready to serve.
