Cabbage Horse gram Side dish/ Palya/ Poriyal
Cabbage horse gram side dish or palya or poriyal is a healthy and tasty side dish recipe, it goes well with samber rice, chapati or rasam rice.
- 1 Small Cabbage
- ½ cup Horse gram
- 1 Chopped Onion
- ⅛ tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp Oil
- ½ tsp Channa dal
- ½ tsp Urad dal
- ¼ cup Grated Coconuts
- Few Curry leaves
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric Powder
- 4 Green chilies
- Salt (As per taste)
- Water (As required)
Soak horse gram overnight or at least 2 to 3 hours, and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Take a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, channa dal, urad dal, onion, turmeric powder, curry leaves.
Add in freshly chopped cabbage, cooked horse gram and salt as per taste, give a mix.
Garnish it with grated coconuts, chopped coriander leaves. Give a mix.
Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.
Serve hot with chapati, samber rice, or rasam rice.
