Avalakki upma or poha upma or flatten rice recipe is a one of the quickest and healthy recipe. It takes hardly 5 to 10 minutes to prepare this recipe. Avalakki Upma/Poha bath/Flatten Rice Recipe
Avalakki upma is a simple and tasty recipe, it is one of the best and simple breakfast recipe.

- Bowl
- 1 cup Avalakki or Flatten rice
- 1 to 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 tbsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Channa dal
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- ¼ cup Peanuts
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
- 3 Green chilies
- 1 Chopped Onion
- Few Curry leaves
- Pinch of hing
- 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
- Chopped Coriander leaves (Garnishing)
- Salt as per taste
- Water as required
Firstly wash and soak flatten rice or avalakki in water for 5 minutes, then drain of the water completely from poha or flatten rice and keep it aside.
Now heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, channa dal, urad dal, peanuts, fry till the dal and peanuts slightly changes its color.
Then add in green chilies, onions, curry leaves, turmeric powder, hing and salt as per taste. Cook for 2 minutes in low flame.
Now add in the flatten rice or poha and then give a gentle mix.
And then add in lemon juice, grated coconuts, coriander leaves, then give a mix. Check salt, if required add in salt at this stage.
Finally Avalakki upma, poha bath, flatten rice recipe is ready to serve.
