Ash gourd halwa is also known as Kashi Halwa or kasi halwa. This gourd is also called as kushmanda, kumbalakai, gummadikaya, winter melon, poosanikai, dumroot . It has a very light and smooth texture and just melts in your mouth.
Ingredients:
Ash gourd grated, sugar, cardamom powder, cashew nuts, raisins, ghee.
Methods:
How to make Ash Gourd Halwa:
- Firstly, heat a pan and add in grated ash gourds, saute till the water evaporates completely.
- Close the lid and allow it to cook the ash gourd till the raw smell goes away.
- Once the ash gourd is completely cooked and slightly changes its color. Then add in sugar as per requirement.
- Give a mix and allow it to cook.
- Heat a small pan and add in oil or ghee, few cashew nuts, raisins. Fry till golden brown.
- Then add in tbsp of ghee.
- Saute till the ash gourd halwa starts releasing the pan.
- Add in cardamom powder and give a mix.
- Finally add in fried cashew nuts, raisins and give a mix.

- 10 Cashew nuts
- 10 Raisins
- 1 tbsp Ghee/Oil
