Simple Pot Jeera Rice, Jeera Rice, Cumin Rice
It is a simple and tasty dish. It goes well with dal fry, dal tadka or any gravy of your choice.
- 2 Cups Rice of your choice (Basmati or jeera samber or sonamasori rice.)
- 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
- 1 Onion chopped
- 4 Green Chili
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 or 2 Cloves, Cardomom, Cinnamom, bay leaf
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves, Mint leaves
- ¼ cup Fenugreek leaves (Optional)
- 1 tsp Ghee (Optional)
- Salt (As per taste)
- 3½ cups Water
Soak the rice for half an hour.
Take a pot add in oil, cumin seeds, spices.
Add in Green Chili, , Ginger garlic paste and Onion.
Add in water Coriander,mint, fenugreek leaves and salt as per taste.
Close the lid and cook in low flame.
Jeera rice is ready to serve with dal fry or dal tadka.
- At the end add Ghee for extra taste.
- Add cashew nuts if you want.
