Nethili fish is also known as Anchovy (English), nethili meen, nethili cepa. Nethili fish is a small, common fish found in marine water. How to make Nethili Dry Fish Curry Recipe:
Nethili Dry Fish Curry.
Nethili dry fish curry is a simple and healthy recipe. It goes well with hot rice. Ingredients used in this recipe are very handy and easily available at home.
- Pan
- Bowl
- 80 grams Dry Nethili fish
- 1 big Onion
- 2 medium Tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- 5 pods Garlic
- 2 spring Curry leaves
- Pinch of turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Chili powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Samber powder or cumin powder (Optional)
- Freshly chopped coriander leaves (for garnishing)
- Salt to taste
- Water as required

Firstly in a pan add in dry fish and dry roast on medium flame or saute till smoke arises.

Transfer into hot water and saute for one minutes and wash in fresh water. Do not leave the fish in hot water for longer time.

Then in a pan add in oil, mustard seeds, garlic, curry leaves saute it for few minutes and then add in chopped onions, tomatoes, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, salt to taste.

Then close the lid and cook till the tomatoes turn soft and mushy or oil floats. Don't add water.

And then add in 1/4th cup of water and allow it boil.

And then add in cleaned dry fish and cook for 3 to 5 minutes in medium flame.

Finally garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve with hot rice.
