Wheat Momos with Paneer Stuffing

Wheat Momos with Paneer Stugging is also called as steamed buns, filled buns, dumplings, dimsums in English. Usually Momo is served with a dipping sauce(locally called chutney). Momo is prepared with a vegetable, meat or paneer fillings or vegetable and meat fillings. There are typically two types of momo, steamed and fried.

So, the ingredients used in this recipe are (for dough) Whole wheat flour, Salt, Water as required, Oil. For filling we need fresh paneer, chopped onions, capsicum, chopped cauliflower, chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt to taste, turmeric powder, oil, hing.

Wheat Momos with Paneer Stuffing

Wheat Momos with Paneer Stuffing is also called dumplings, filled buns, steamed buns, with step by step pictures and instructions are given below.

  • Steamer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan

For Dough

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • Water as required
  • Pinch of salt

For Stuffing

  • ½ cup Cubbed Paneer
  • ⅛ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 Chopped Onions
  • 1 Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Small chopped Capsicum
  • ½ cup Chopped Cauliflower
  • ½ tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt as per taste
  1. Take a bowl and add in wheat flour, salt, oil and required water.

  2. Knead to form a soft dough.

  3. Close the dough and allow it rest for 30 minutes.

For Stuffing

  1. Heat a pan and add in oil, cumin seeds, onion, turmeric powder, hing, tomato, and give a mix.

  2. Add in chopped cauliflower, chopped capsicum and cubbed paneer.

  3. Add in chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt to taste.

  4. Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.

For preparing Momos, Filled buns, Steamed buns, Dumplings

  1. Take a dough, make small balls, roll them and keep it aside.

  2. On the rolled dough add in one spoon of prepared paneer stuffing, fold them and keep it aside.

  3. Heat the steamer or idly maker and place all the prepared momos and steam cook them for 20 minutes in medium flame.

  4. Finally the wheat paneer momo is ready to serve with tomato sauce or any other of your choice.

Method: How to make Wheat Momos with Paneer Stuffing
