Ingredients:
Broad beans, onion, tomato, oil, urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves, turmeric powder, hing, salt to taste, grated coconut. For grinding we need peanuts, red chilies, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, red chilies.
Methods:
How to make Broad Beans Poriyal:
- Firstly rinse broad beans for 2 to 3 times and keep it aside.
- Firstly dry roast peanuts, coriander seeds, red chilies, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and keep aside.
- Ground it into a course powder.
- Now heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal. Saute for 1 minute in low flame.
- Then add in chopped onions, curry leaves, hing. Saute till the onions becomes soft and transparent.
- Then add in turmeric powder.
- Then add in salt to taste and one chopped tomato. Give a mix.
- Later add in cut broad beans and give a mix.
- Then close a lid and allow it to cook, till the beans are 70 percent cooks.
- Once beans are 3/4th cooked add in ground powder and give a mix. Then allow it cook for another 5 minutes.
- Once the beans is completely cooked finally add in grated coconut and give a mix.
- Finally the healthy and tasty broad beans poriyal is ready to serve.

- Pan
- Mixer jar
- 500 grams Broad beans
- 1 Big onion chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- 1 tsp Channa dal
- 2 spring Curry leaves
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
- ¼ cup Grated coconut
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- Salt to taste
- ½ cup Water (Add as per requirement)
For Grinding
- 2 tbsp Peanuts
- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 10 nos. Fenugreek seeds
