Tondekai Bath Recipe | Ivy Gourd Rice bath is one of the healthy and tasty rice bath recipe. Ingredients:

Tondekai or Ivy gourd, onion, oil, channa dal, urad dal, curry leaves, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, vangibath powder or even we can add chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder too, green peas, jaggery (optional), water as required, cooked rice.

Methods:

  1. Firstly rinse tondekai or ivy gourd and keep it aside. Cut tondekai into slices.

  2. Then heat a pan add in oil, mustard seeds, channa dal, urad dal fry till it slightly changes its color, then add in onions, sliced ivy gourd, green peas, turmeric powder, curry leaves.

  3. Then add in vangibath powder or even we can add in chili powder, coriander powder and garam masala, salt to taste. Give a mix.

  4. Later add in cooked rice and then give a quick mix. If required we can add in salt or red chicli powder for spice. Even we can add in little jaggery for sweetness. And then switch off the flame.

  5. Finally the healthy and tasty Tondekai or Ivy gourd rice bath is ready to serve.

  • 1 Chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Channa dal
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 spring Curry leaves
  • ⅛ Pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Vangibath powder
  • ¼ cup Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • ⅛ tsp Jaggery (Optional)
  • ½ Cup Water (To cook ivy gourd)
  • 2 cups Cooked rice
