Watermelon Sago Recipe

Watermelon Sago is a healthy and refreshing drink made using fresh watermelon, sago (small tapioca pearls), sabja seeds, and coconut milk (optional). It is one of the best drinks to have during this hot summer.

So, before making watermelon sago, you need to start by boiling tapioca pearls until they are translucent and soft. Once the sago is cooked, strain it completely without water. And then cut the watermelon into pieces, and remove the seeds. Further, transfer it to a blender and blend it to extract juice. Later take a mixing bowl and add watermelon juice, cooked sago, soaked sabja seeds, and some cut watermelon pieces give a mix refrigerate it, and serve cool.

If required you can also add coconut milk for extra flavor. This watermelon sago is liked for its light flavor, perfect for its cooling down on a hot day. And it looks very attractive because of its vibrant pink color.

Watermelon is a delicious and has high water content which is best to eat during summer or hot season. It belongs to cucumber, pumpkins and squash family. Tapioca is a starch extracted from the tubers and cassava plant. They are used in many culinary dishes mainly in desserts, beverages and snacks. These tapioca is prepared by extracting from cassava plant. Later prepared into a dough like consistency. This dough is formed into small, round balls, which are then boiled until they become translucent and chewy. You get wide range of verities like small size to large size pearls.

Ingredients

  • Watermelon 1/2

  • Sabja seeds 2 tbsp.

  • Sago or Tapioca pearls 1/4 cup

  • Sugar (optional)

Directions

  • Firstly, boil tapioca pearls until they are translucent and soft.
  • Strain completely without water.
  • Now in a blender add cut watermelon pieces.
  • Transfer watermelon juice into a mixing bowl.
  • Then add in cut watermelon pieces to the juice.
  • Then add in soaked sabja seeds.
  • Later add in cooked sago and give a mix.
  • Further, refrigerate it for few hours.
  • Finally, serve cool watermelon sago and beat the heat.

HOW TO MAKE WATERMELON SAGO:
