Tasty Kara Vadai
Kara Vadai is a healthy and tasty tea time snack recipe, and it is really very simple to make.
- Mixing bowl
- Frying pan
- Mixer jar
- ½ cup Idly rice or Per boiled rice
- ¼ cup Urad dal
- ¼ cup Channa dal
- ½ inch Ginger
- 4 Red Chilies (Adjust according to spice level)
- 1 Big chopped onion
- 2 Green chilies
- Few chopped curry leaves
- ¼ Coriander leaves
- Oil for deep frying
- Salt to taste
Take a bowl and add in idly rice, urad dal, channa dal. Wash them and allow it soak for 2 hours.
Take a mixer jar and add in soaked idly rice, channa dal, urad dal, ginger, red chilies. Grind them into a paste.
Now transfer the ground batter into another bowl and add in chopped onions, coriander leaves, curry leaves, green chilies, salt to taste.
Give a gentle mix.
Now heat a frying pan and add in enough oil to fry.
Wet your hands and slowly take a lemon size batter and drop it into the frying pan. Fry them in a medium flame till it changes its color to golden brown.
Finally the tasty kara vadai is ready to serve with any chutney of your choice. Even it goes well with coffee or tea.
