Spinach Mushroom Gravy is a healthy and tasty recipe and it is rich in iron. It goes well with chapati, poori, dosa. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are fresh spinach or palak, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, green chilies, cloves, cinnamon, chopped garlic, few curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, cashew nuts, chopped green chilies, kasuri methi, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, oil, salt as per taste, water has required.

How to make Spinach Mushroom Gravy

Spinach Mushroom Gravy is a healthy and tasty gravy recipe which goes well with roti, chapati, poori and dosa.

  • Mixer jar
  • Pan
  • 250 grams Spinach
  • 200 grams Mushroom
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 Green chilies
  • 1 Chopped Green chilies (Optional)
  • 2 Cloves
  • ½ inch Cinnamon stick
  • 1 tbsp Chopped Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • ¼ tsp Garam masala
  • ¼ tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as required
  1. Firstly wash spinach, mushroom and keep it aside.

  2. Heat a pan and add in washed spinach and little salt, then close the lid and allow it to cook for 3 to 5 minutes.

  3. After the spinach is cooked, allow it to cool.

  4. Now take a mixer jar and add in cashew nuts, spinach and ground them into paste.

  5. Again heat a pan and add in little oil, onion, tomatoes and green chilies, fry for 2 minutes in low flame.

  6. And then ground them into paste and keep it aside.

  7. Now heat a pan and add in oil, cumin seeds, chopped garlic, and fry till the garlic turns into golden brown.

  8. Now add in grounded tomato onion paste, ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes.

  9. Add in spinach paste and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.

  10. And then add in cut mushrooms, coriander powder, garam masala powder, chopped green chilies, kasuri methi. Give a mix and cook for another 2 minutes in low flame.

  11. Finally add in salt as per taste and water if required.

  12. Now the Spinach mushroom gravy is ready to serve.
