How to make Spicy Tomato Peanut Chutney or Red chutney Recipe:

Firstly heat a pan and add in oil.

Roast peanuts.

And then roast channa dal, urad dal.

Then roast onion.

And then roast tomatoes, chilies. Cook till the tomatoes becomes soft.

Transfer it to a mixer jar and add in salt to taste.

When it is coarsely ground and then add in grated coconuts.

For seasoning heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and hing.

Spicy Tomato Peanut Chutney or Red Chutney Recipe is a tasty and healthy recipe with step by step pictures and instructions are given below.

  • Mixer jar
  • Pan
  • 2 nos. Ripe tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp Peanuts
  • ½ cup Grated coconuts
  • 2 Kashmiri chilies
  • 4 Guntur chilies
  • 1 small Onion cut
  • 4 pods Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Channa dal
  • 1 tbsp Urad dal
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Oil

Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ¼ tsp Urad dal
  • 2 string Curry leaves
  • Pinch of hing
  1. Heat a pan and and in oil and roast all the above ingredients and tomatoes till soft.

  2. And then transfer to a mixer jar and add in salt to taste.

  3. Ground them coarsely.

  4. And then add in grated coconuts and again ground them into a smooth paste.

  5. Finally prepare the seasoning by adding all the above ingredients given above in the ingredients list.

  6. Now serve Spicy tomato peanut chutney with idli, dosa, chapati, pulka, roti, rice etc. of your choice.
