So, the ingredients used in this recipe are fresh water fish with bones, onions, tomato, curry leaves, coriander leaves for garnishing, handful of garlic pods, turmeric powder, chili powder, samber powder(optional), for grinding we need, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds or methi seeds, oil, salt to taste, tamarind, green chilies, water as required.

- Pan
- Mixer jar
For Marination
- 1 Kg Fresh water fish
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsp Red chili powder
For Grinding
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- 2 tbsp Coriander seeds
- 10 nos. Fenugreek seeds
- 2 tsp Oil
For making Fish curry
- Marinated fish
- 2 Big Onion sliced
- 15 Garlic pods curshed
- 2 spring Curry leaves
- 2 Green chilies
- 1 Sliced tomatoes
- 1 Lemon size tamarind
- Red chili powder or sambar powder (For extra spice)
- ¼ cup Oil
- ⅛ tsp Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Water as required (Add as per your thickness)

Firstly clean fish and marinate it with turmeric powder, oil, red chili powder and salt.

Then dry roast mustard seeds, coriander seeds and fenugreek seeds. And then ground them into a powder.

Now heat a pan and add in oil, crushed garlic, sliced onions, green chilies, curry leaves and fry till transparent.

Then add in sliced tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes are cooked well. And then switch off the flame.

Now take half of the cooked onions, tomatoes to the mixer jar and then ground them into a smooth paste.

Now again heat a pot and add in oil, half of the fried onions, ground paste, tamarind juice, salt to taste and allow it boil.

Now taste test if required add in red chili powder or sambar powder, salt to taste and required water.

Once the curry started to boil add in marinated fish and close the lid and cook for 15 to 20 minutes in low flame.
