Pepper Idli with leftover idlies

Pepper Idli is a simple and tasty recipe made with leftover idli. One day I was wondering what to do with leftover idlies and then I tried this pepper idli recipe and for my surprise it came out super yummy. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are leftover idlies, oil, chopped garlic, onions, capsicum, curry leaves, turmeric powder, chili powder, pepper powder, salt to taste.

How to make Pepper Idli recipe:

Pepper Idli
Firstly cut leftover idlies into small cubes and keep it aside.

Now heat a pan and add in oil and cut idlies, roast them on both the sides.

Then cut garlic, onions and capsicums and keep it aside.

Heat a pan and add in oil, chopped garlic and curry leaves. Fry till the garlic turns into golden brown.

Add in cut onions, capsicums, turmeric powder and chili powder. Then give a mix and cook for 3 minutes.

Then add in fried idilies and give a mix and cook for 3 minutes in medium flame.

Finally add in freshly ground pepper powder and salt to taste. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes and switch off the flame.

  • 6 Leftover idlies
  • 1 tbsp Chopped garlic
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Sliced capsicums
  • Mustard Seeds
  • few curry leaves
  • Pinch of Turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Freshly ground pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil
