Palak Paneer is a vegetarian dish, consisting of paneer or cottage cheese. Palak paneer is prepared by first boiling and pureeing spinach. The puree is then mixed with sauted tomatoes and onions. Then paneer cubes are added to the puree. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are fresh palak, onions, tomatoes, chopped garlic, ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, oil, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chili powder, ghee, green chilies, cashew paste(optional), kasuri methi, fresh cream, fresh paneer cubes, water as required.
Best Combo:
Palak Paneer + Roti or paratha or poori and even with dosa.
Palak Paneer + Jeera Rice.

Palak Paneer or Spinach Paneer
Palak Paneer or Spinach Paneer is a healthy and delicious gravy recipe, which goes well with poori, chapati, parathas or your choice.
- Large bottom pan
- Mixer grinder
- 2 Bunch Palak or Spinach
- 200 grms Paneer
- 1 Chopped onion
- 1 Chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 12 cloves Chopped Garlic
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 3 Green chilies
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 tbsp Cashew nut
- 1 tbsp Fresh cream (Optional)
- 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
- Pinch of turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp Cumin powder
- ½ tsp Chili powder
- ½ tsp Sugar

Firstly clean and wash the palak leaves and keep it aside.

Heat a small pan and add in little water, washed palak, sugar(to retain the color of palak leaves). Close the lid and cook for just 1 minutes. Then allow it cool down completely.

Ground cooked palak into fine paste and keep it aside.

Heat a pan and add in ghee, oil, cumin seeds, chopped garlic. Cook till golden brown.

Then add in grounded palak puree and cook for another five minutes in low flame.

Then transfer the cooked palak puree into another bowl and keep it aside.

Again heat a pan and add in oil or ghee, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, green chilies, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, turmeric powder, chili powder. Cook till the raw smell goes.

Now add in cooked palak puree, salt to taste. Give a mix.

Then add in kasuri methi, cashew paste and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.

Finally add in fresh cream and give a quick mix, switch off the stove.

Now the healthy and tasty Palak Paneer is ready to serve with parathas, chapati, or poori of your choice.
