It is a healthy and tasty cake recipe. So, the ingredients are whole wheat flour, jowar flour, ragi flour, country sugar, cardamom powder, baking soda, baking powder, a pinch of salt, desiccated coconut, cashew nuts, choco chips, tutti frutti, egg. So, it can be one of the healthy tea time snacks for children. Instead of all purpose flour we can use wheat flour, ragi flour, and jowar flour. Adding desiccated coconut enhances the taste of the cake.
WHOLE WHEAT: Is a healthy substitute for Maida (All Purpose Flour). These flours are gluten free. Whole wheat flour is prepared from crushed wheat kernals into a smooth powder. It is one of the oldest crop. It can be used for baking like bread, cakes, chapatis, cookies, roti, dosa etc.
RAGI: Is also known as Finger Millet and it is one of the most nutritious and healthy grain. Further it is high in protein and minerals, good for digestion, gluten free. Using ragi we can make variety of healthy dishes like Ragi roti, idli, dosa, puttu (Kerala), ragi ball (Karnataka Mudde), porridge etc.
JOWAR:
Is also known as Sorghum and most commonly used millet. It is a gluten free, fiber rich and protein rich millet. Using jowar we can make dosa, idly, Jowar roti etc.
COUNTRY SUGAR:
An organic form of Natural Traditional Sugar or Naattu Sakkarai is known as Natural Country Sugar. It does not contain any harmful chemicals. One of the best and healthy substitute for white sugar.
It is prepared by using raw papaya and sugar. Further it can be used as a topping on ice creams, cakes, shakes etc. Instead of using artificial food colors I have used turmeric powder, as it is healthy and natural.
