A meal eaten in the middle of the day, typically one that is lighter or less formal than an evening meal. Lunch is commonly the second meal of the day, i.e. after breakfast. Lunch can also be defined as light midday meal between breakfast and dinner.
So, for lunch I have prepared Drumstick samber, Rice, Tapioca Palya or Side dish, Cucumber Salad or Kosambari, Butter Milk, Rice Papads. It is a simple lunch menu. Above You can find the links of the recipes.
Drumstick samber is a healthy and tasty samber recipe. Drumsticks even called as Moringa in Tamil and Nugekai in Kannada. Drumsticks helps in digestion, boosts immunity, helps purifying blood. Drumstick is one of those plant species whose seeds, flowers, leaves and stems are edible and extremely nutritious. Drumstick samber is one of our family’s favorite samber. We have along with Palya/Poriyal/side dishes, Masala Vada, or with Papads.
For side dish I have prepared Tapioca Palya or Side dish and Cucumber Salad or Kosambari. Tapioca is also known as Cassava and Maragenasu in Kannada. Without adding any seasoning or spices also you can have the tapioca, just by adding little salt and steaming them. Health benefits of tapioca are easy to digest, source of iron and calcium. However, its naturally gluten free.
Cucumber Salads or Kosambari is one of the best salad to beat the summer. It hydrates the body and keeps the body cool. Kosambari or cucumber salad is one of the South Indian traditional recipe. To this salad even you add in fresh pomegranates, fresh sweet corns or even you can add in grated carrots too. It makes the salad more healthy and tasty.
Butter milk is very simple to make, only you need curd, salt and water mix them well and the butter milk is ready to drink. Again it is a summer special drink and even healthy to. It keeps the body cool and hydrated.
