Instant Amla Pickle or Gooseberry Pickle

Amla or Gooseberry can be used for making variety of dishes such as pickle, rice varieties etc. Amla or gooseberry pickle is a simple and healthy pickle recipe usually I make at home. We can make variety of pickles such as lemon pickle, mango pickle, vegetable pickle, gongura pickle etc.

Benefits of amla are: highly nutritious, high in fiber, good for hair, low in calories.

So, the ingredients used in this recipe are fresh amla or gooseberry, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, red chili powder, salt to taste, oil.

How to make Instant Amla Pickle or Gooseberry Pickle:

Firstly clean and cut amla into small pieces.

Heat a pan and add in mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds. Dry roast them and keep it aside. seeds and dry roast them and keep it aside.

Ground them into powder.

Heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves. Allow the mustard to splutter.

Add in cut amla.

Now add in chili powder and salt to taste.

Now add in freshly ground powder and give a mix.

Finally the instant amla or gooseberry pickle is ready. It can be stored in airtight container and refrigerate it.

Instant Amla or Gooseberry Pickle

Instant amla pickle is a very healthy pickle recipe. It goes well with curd rice, parathas etc.

  • Pan
  • Mixer jar or hand grinder
  • 200 grams Amla or Gooseberry
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Chilli powder (Adjust according to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of hing

For making powder

  • 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ¼ tsp Fenugreek seeds
  1. Firstly clean and cut amla into small pieces and keep it aside.

  2. Now heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, hing and cut amal. Give a mix.

  3. Now add in chili powder and salt to taste.

  4. Now add in ground powder. Give a quick mix.

  5. Now finally the instant amla or gooseberry pickle is ready to serve.

  1. Store in air tight container and refrigerate it.
