This healthy pumpkin Palya/side dish or Pumpkin Poriyal are tasty and healthy recipe. I usually prepare this healthy pumpkin palya/side dish with chapati or poori, but you can also have it has an accomplishment with rice too.
Ingredients used in healthy pumpkin palya are freshly chopped pumpkin, chopped onion, chopped tomato, coriander powder, chili powder, green chili, mustard, cumin seeds, chana and urad dal, curry leaves, turmeric powder and coriander leaves for garnishing.

Healthy Pumpkin Palya/Sdie dish
Healthy pumkin palya is low in calorie, it goes well with chapati or poori. Hope you all enjoy it.
- 2 Cups Freshly chopped Pumpkin
- 1 Onion chopped
- 1 Chopped Tomato
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- Pinch Turmeric Powder
- 2 Green Chili
- ¼ tsp Chili powder
- ¼ tsp Garam masala
- ¼ tsp Mustard and cumin seeds
- ½ tsp Channa dal and Urad dal
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1 Spring Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves (Garnishing)
- Salt (As per taste)
- Water (As required)
Firstly chop the pumpkins.
Take a pan and add in oil, mustard and cumin seeds, chana and urad dal.
Add in green chili, curry leaves.
Add in chopped onions, tomatoes.
Add in coriander powder, chili powder and garam masala. Give a mix.
Add in salt and required water.
Add in chopped pumpkins and close the lid and cook till the pumpkin cooks.
Serve with chapati or poori.
- To make it more tasty you can add coconut milk or cashew nut paste.
