Ingredients 

Fresh Karamani, onion, coconut, sambar powder, tamarind, brinjal, potato, a few curry leaves, water, salt to taste, and oil.

 

Methods:

  • Firstly, heat a pan and add water, and fresh karamani. Then close the lid and allow it to cook.
  • once the karamani is 70 percent cooked, then add in cut potatoes, and brinjal and allow it to cook.
  • For preparing masala: Firstly, heat a pan and add in one cut onion. Fry till brown.
  • Take a mixer jar and add in fried onions, coconut, tamarind, and sambar powder. Grind it into a smooth paste.
  • Add in the ground masala paste. Then give a mix and allow it to cook till the raw smell goes away completely.
  • Give a mix, add salt to taste, and allow it to boil.
  • For seasoning, heat a small pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, onion, a few curry leaves, and hing. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Now add the prepared seasoning to the boiling sambar. And boil for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Finally Fresh Karamani Sambar is ready to serve.

  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 Potato
