How to make Fresh Curry Leaves Thokku:

Wash the curry leaves and pat dry them. Then keep it aside.

Take a mixer jar and add in curry leaves, pepper corns, dry red chilies, tamarind.

Ground them into paste.

Heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, hing, fenugreek seeds, urad dal and allow it to splutter.

  • Pan
  • Mixer jar
  • 1 bunch Fresh Curry leaves
  • 3 to 4 Dry red chilies
  • Small lemon size tamarind
  • 4 tsp Pepper corns
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Jaggery powder
  • ¼ cup Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • Pinch of hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  1. Firstly wash and pat dry the curry leaves and keep it aside.

  2. Now take a mixer jar and add in curry leaves, tamarind, pepper corns, dry red chilies.

  3. Ground them into paste.

  4. Now heat a pan and add in oil, hing, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal and ground curry leaves paste.

  5. And then add in turmeric powder, jaggery powder and cook till the oil separates.

  6. Finally the Fresh Curry Leaves Thokku is ready to serve.
