Cucumber Salads or Kosambari is the best salad recipe. It is one of the healthy and traditional recipe. Kosambari is the south Indian traditional recipe. Ingredients used in this salad are freshly chopped cucumbers, soaked moong dal, curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves, grated coconuts, oil, mustard seeds, urad dal.
To this salad even you can add in fresh pomegranates, fresh sweet corn or even you can add in grated carrots too. It makes the recipe more healthy and tasty. If you don’t like you can skip moong dal. Some people make carrot salads or Carrot kosambari.

Cucumber Salads or Kosambari

Cucumber Salad or Kosambari is a healthy recipe. It is simple to prepare.
- 1 Fresh Cucumber chopped
- 1 tbsp Moong dal (soaked)
- Coriander leaves (Garnishing)
- 1 tbsp Grated Coconut
- 1 Spring Curry leaves
- 1 Green chili chopped
- ¼ tsp Oil
- few Mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp Urad dal
Firstly soak the moong dal for 30 minutes
Now peel the skin and chop the cucumber into small pieces.
For tadka, take a pan and add in oil, mustard, chili chopped, urad dal, curry leaves.
Drain the water and add in the soaked moong dal to the salad and give a mix.
Add in the tadka to the chopped cucumber.
Now add in grated coconuts, chopped coriander leaves.
- You can also add grated carrot, pomegranate, sweet corn to make the salad more healthy and tasty.
