Capsicum Peas Gravy

Capsicum Gravy is a delicious gravy recipe, it goes well with roti, chapati, poori, dosa, jeera rice etc. Capsisum gravy is simple to make with less ingredients. So, the ingredients used in this recipe are fresh capsicum, green peas(frozen), onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, green chili, hing, cashew nuts, curry leaves, fennel seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks, bay leaf, turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, kashmiri chili powder, roasted chick pea, kasuri methi, salt to taste, water as required, oil, ghee.

How to make Capsicum Peas Gravy.

Heat a pan and add in little oil, onions, tomatoes, cashew nuts. Fry for 3 minutes in low flame.

Now add in cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks, fennel seeds, and then fry for 1 to 2 minutes in low flame. Transfer it to another bowl and allow it cool.

Transfer it into a mixer jar and make a paste of it.

Heat a pan and add in oil, hing, fennel seeds, bay leaf, curry leaves, green chilies and saute for few seconds.

Then add in ground paste, ginger garlic paste and all the spice powders. Then give a mix and cook till the raw smell goes.

And then add in ghee, cut capsicum, green peas, required amount of salt and if required and little jaggery or sugar(for sweetness). Then close the lid and cook for 5 to 8 minutes in low flame.

Finally add in kasuri methi and give a mix.

Finally Capsicum Peas Gravy is ready to serve with roti, poori of your choice.

 

Capsicum Peas Gravy

Capsicum peas gravy is a tasty and simple gravy recipe, it goes well with roti, poori, dosa, jeera rice etc. It is very easy to make.

  • Pan
  • Mixer jar
  • 2 Big Capsicums
  • ⅓ cup Frozen peas
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 4 Green chilies
  • ⅛ Hing
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
  • ⅛ Turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp Fennel seeds
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 string Curry leaf
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Jaggery powder or Sugar (Optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp Kasuri methi
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  1. Heat a pan and add in little oil, onion, tomatoes, cashew nuts and fry for a 3 minutes in low flame.

  2. And then add in cloves, cinnamon sticks, cardamom, fennel seeds and fry for 2 minutes.

  3. Then allow it cool and ground them into a paste and keep it aside.

  4. Now again heat a pan and add in oil, fennel seeds, curry leaves, hing, green chilies, saute for few seconds.

  5. Add in ground paste, ginger garlic paste, spice powders, and then close the lid and allow it cook till the raw smell goes or till the oil separates.

  6. Now add in cut capsicum, green pease, ghee, jaggery and required amount of salt.

  7. If required add in little water and then close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes in low flame.

  8. Finally add in kasuri methi and give a mix.

  9. Now the Capsicum Peas Gravy is ready to serve with roti, jeera rice, dosa of your choice.
