Brown Chana Potato Gravy/Aloo Kala Chana Gravy

Brown Chana Potato Gravy or Aloo Kala Chana Gravy

It is a healthy and delicious recipe. Adding Potato makes the recipe more healthier and tasty. If you don't like potato you can also skip. You can make only Brown Chana Gravy also even it tasts great.

  • 1 Cup Brown Chana Soaked
  • 1 Big Potato
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Medium Tomato
  • 1 to 2 Cloves, Cardomum, Cinnamon Sticks
  • ½ tsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • ¼ tsp Kashmiri Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Chana Masala Powder or Garam masala Powder
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Salt (As per taste)
  • Water (As required)
  1. Soak 5 to 6 hours.

  2. Take a Pressure cooker and add in Oil and Spice.



  3. Add in Onion, Curry Leaves.



  4. Add in Tomato.



  5. Add in Spice Powder.



  6. Add in soaked chana, salt and water. Pressure cook brown chana for 4 to 5 whistle.



  7. After cooking the chana now add in chopped Potatoes and Kasuri Methi. Cook till potatoes cooks.



  8. Garnish it with Coriander leaves. Brown Chana Potato Gravy is ready to serve.



  1. Adjust water according to your consistency.
