Ash gourd Majjige huli/Mor kuzhambu is a healthy and tasty simple accomplishment served with rice.

  • 1 cup Ash Gourd cubed
  • ⅓ cup Fresh Coconut chopped or grated
  • 1 Green chili
  • ½ inch Ginger
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Soaked channa dal
  • 1 tsp Soaked rice
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • ⅛ tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 Dry chili
  • ⅛ tsp Cumin seeds
  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • Pinch of hing
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups Water
  • ⅓ cup Curd
  1. Heat a pan and add in water cubed ash gourd, pinch of turmeric powder. Cook till ash gourd becomes soft.

  2. Soak channa dal and rice.

  3. Meanwhile take a mixer jar and add in fresh coconuts, cumin seeds, green chili, ginger, soaked channa and rice. Grind them into paste.

  4. Now add in the paste, curd and salt to taste. Give a mix.

  5. Take a small pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilies, curry leaves, hing.

  6. Finally add in the prepared seasoning to the curry. Allow to boil and switch off the stove.

  7. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
