Besan Ladoo or Besan ke Laddu Recipe

Besan Ladoo or besan ke laddu recipe is a traditional sweet recipe made during festivals seasons. Besan laddu is a round sweet desert made with gram flour, sugar, cardamom powder, ghee, cashew nuts and almonds. Gram flour is roasted with ghee till the raw smell goes and then sugar and cardamom powder is added in to it, and then the small and soft balls are made out of it.

How to make Besan Ladoo or Besan ke Laddu:

Heat a pan and add in 2 tbsp ghee, cashew nuts and fry till golden brown and keep it aside.

In the same pan add in the remaining ghee and gram flour.

Roast for 5 minutes in low flame. Keep stirring otherwise flour may get burnt.

After 5 minutes of roasting add in 1/4th cup of ghee.

Give a mix and roast for 15 to 20 minutes in low flame or till the raw smell of gram flour goes.

Transfer it into another bowl and allow it to cool down till slightly warm and not too cold.

And then add in powdered sugar, cardamom powder and give a mix.

Now try to make small balls with help of your hand. If required add in ghee and make small balls.

Finally the besan ladoo or besan ke laddu is ready to serve.

Besan Ladoo or Besan Ke Laddu Recipe is a traditional sweet dessert recipe with step by step pictures and instructions are given below.

  • Pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • 1 cup Gram flour, besan flour
  • ½ cup Powdered sugar
  • 4 Cardamom pods
  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nuts
  • 4 Almonds (For decorations)
  1. Firstly ground sugar and cardamom pods to the smooth powder and keep it aside.
  2. Now heat a pan and add in ghee, cashew nuts and roast till golden brown and keep it aside.
  3. Now in the same ghee add in the gram flour and roast for 5 minutes.
  4. And then add in remaining ghee and give a mix.
  5. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes in low flame till the raw smell of flour goes.
  6. Note: Keep stirring otherwise flour may get burnt.
  7. Transfer to another bowl and allow it cool down but slightly warm.
  8. And then add in sugar and cardamom powder and give a mix.
  9. Now try to make small balls and if required add in ghee and try to make small balls.
  10. Finally decorate it with chopped almonds or pistachio and serve.
