Karpooravalli is traditionally used for treating cold and cough. Using Karpooravalli or doddapatre we can make karpooravalli rasam, chutney, bajji, doddapatre tambuli in kannada.
- Pan
- 10 Karpooravalli leaves
- 2 tsp Rasam powder
- 1 tbsp Tamarind juice (Adjust according to taste.)
- 1 Tomato chopped
- Few curry leaves
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 cups Water
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Ghee
- Coriander leaves for garnishing

Firstly clean and chop karpooravalli leaves and keep it aside.

Heat a pan and add in oil or ghee, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chopped tomatoes, curry leaves. Saute it for few minutes.

Then add in tamarind juice, required water, rasam powder and salt to taste.

Finally garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves and ghee.

Now the healthy and tasty karpooravalli rasam is ready to serve with hot rice and papad.
