Carrot Halwa or Gajar ka halwa

Carrot halwa or Gajar ka halwa is also known as gajar pak,. It is a carrot based sweet recipe. It is usually prepared during festivals, special occasions. Carrot can be replaced with beetroot, ash gourd and fruits like apple, banana, jack fruit etc. Ingredients used in this recipe are grated carrots, milk, sugar, cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom powder, khoya, ghee, oil. Even we can add in other dry fruits like chopped almonds, pistachio, walnuts etc. of your choice.

How to make Carrot halwa or Gajar ka halwa Recipe:

Heat a pan and add in ghee, cahew nuts and raisins. Fry them till golden brown.

Add in ghee and freshly grated carrots. Cook carrots in low flame till the raw smell goes.

Add in milk.

Add in sugar.

Add in khoya.

Mix khoya without any lumps.

Carrot Halwa or Gajar ka halwa

Carrot halwa is a dessert recipe. It is a carrot based recipe. It is usually prepared during festivals, special occasions. Carrot can be replaced with beetroot, ash gourd and fruits like apple, banana, jack fruit etc.

  • Large bottom pan
  • 400 Grams Freshly grated carrots
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 2 tbsp Cashew nuts and raisins
  • ½ cup Sugar (According to your taste)
  • 2 tbsp Unsweetned Khoya
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Cardamom powder
  • Pinch of salt
  1. Firstly grate carrots and keep it aside.

  2. Heat a pan and add in ghee, cashew nuts and raisins. Fry them till golden brown and keep it aside.

  3. And then add in grated carrots, give a mix and fry them in low flame till the raw smell goes.

  4. And then add in milk and allow it cook till the carrot cooks completely soft.

  5. Now add in sugar and give a mix.

  6. Add in khoya and give a mix without any lumps.

  7. Finally add in cardamom powder, pinch of salt and garnish it with fried cashew nuts and raisins.

  8. Now the tasty carrot halwa is ready to serve.
