CABBAGE THORAN
It is a quick and healthy Kerala-style stir-fry side dish recipe made with finely chopped cabbage. Further can be served as an accomplishment with rice, chapati, or roti. Thoran is a simple dry dish traditionally made of finely chopped vegetables such as beetroot, beans, carrot, green vegetables, and cabbage. It is one of the traditional dishes made in Kerala. Usually, garlic is not used in this recipe but nowadays garlic and chopped onions are also added.
INGREDIENTS
Oil, mustard seeds, channa dal, urad dal, green chilies, onion, curry leaves, grated coconut, and salt to taste.

Thoran is a simple dry dish traditionally made of finely chopped vegetables such as beetroot, beans, carrot, green vegetables, and cabbage. It is one of the traditional dishes made in Kerala. Usually, garlic is not used in this recipe but nowadays garlic and chopped onions are also added.
- Pan
- 1 small Cabbage
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Channa dal
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- Few Curry leaves
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2 to 3 Green chilies
- ¼ cup Grated coconut
- ¼ cup Chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, channa dal, and urad dal fry till golden brown, and then add in chopped onion, green chilies, curry leaves, and salt to taste.
Then add sliced cabbage, and give a mix. Later close the lid and allow it to cook till the cabbage is 3/4 cooked.
Further, add in grated coconut, and chopped coriander leaves. Give a mix and switch off the flame.
Finally, Cabbage Thoran is ready to serve.
Instead of cabbage, you can also use carrot, beetroot, beans etc.
