This quick and tasty vazhakkai fry is very easy to prepare with minimal ingredients available at home. It can served as a side dish with sambar rice, rasam rice, and not but least curd rice. Further, can also be served as a evening snack along with coffee or tea.
- Pan
- 1 Raw Banana or Plantian
- 1 tbsp Oil
- ½ tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Chana dal
- 1 tsp Urad dal
- 1 Onion chopped
- Few Curry leaves
- ½ tsp Red chili powder
- ¼ tsp Kashmiri chili powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- Hing
- Salt to taste
- 2 to 4 tbsp Water

Firstly heat a pan and add in oil, mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, a few curry leaves, and chopped onions. Fry till light brown.

Then add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri chili powder, and salt to taste. Give a quick mix.

Later add rice flour. It helps to separate the raw banana slices from one another.

Give a mix and sprinkle little water till the raw bananas are completely cooked.

Finally, Raw banana fry or Plantain fry is ready to serve.
